John E. Hill was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois in 1975. He grew up in Oakland, New Jersey and entered Michigan State University’s James Madison College of Public Policy in 1993. Mr. Hill earned an Air Force ROTC scholarship in International Relations and upon graduation was subsequently commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the USAF in December of 1997. John entered active duty in 1998 as an Intelligence Officer and reported to Goodfellow AFB, Texas for intelligence officer training. Mr. Hill was assigned to Langley AFB as a command-level briefer and intelligence analyst for Air Combat Command. During his assignment to Langley, Mr. Hill was deployed to Sarajevo, Bosnia as an intelligence analyst assigned to the US National Intelligence Cell in support of Operations JOINT FORGE. In 2001, Mr. Hill was assigned to Fort George Meade, and the 91st Intelligence Squadron as a branch level manager, supervising some 20 civilians and military personnel. During his assignment, Mr. Hill deployed once again to Bosnia, this time to Tuzla AB as a liaison to Task Force Eagle. Additionally, Mr. Hill deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan in 2002 in support of the US Embassy mission as part of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and served as a civilian political analyst within the US Embassy; Nairobi, Kenya, supporting the Global War on Terrorism in the Horn of Africa. Mr. Hill separated from active duty in 2004 and began work as a civilian within the Department of Defense. Mr. Hill currently is the Chief of Operations of an organization comprised of some 450 civilian, active duty military and contractors. Mr. Hill is a recipient of numerous military decorations and awards including the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Afghanistan Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, and multiple civilian meritorious unit citations. Mr. Hill graduated from the Johns Hopkins University in 2006 with a Master of Arts in Government and Homeland Security. Mr. Hill has extensive experience in counterterrorism, counterintelligence and homeland security issues. Mr. Hill has traveled the globe to include stops in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kenya, South Korea, Qatar, Uganda and Somalia. Mr. Hill retains his commission as a Captain in the USAF as part of the individual ready reserve (IRR). John currently resides in Baltimore, MD. Mr. Hill married his wife Sara (nee Gervase) in the summer of 2009. Mrs. Hill is a teacher in the Baltimore City school district.Comments There are no comments.
