I'm so proud of my grandfather he was a warrior and Bronze Star Recipient! He served in the 29th Infantry Company H and then transferred to Company G. He enlisted in May 1942 and in October of 1942 he was put on the Queen Mary and sent off to England. After 2 years in England he was sent to Normandy, France for D-Day and was in the first wave of troops to storm Omaha Beach. He was one of the lucky and survived this battle and all battles after until the surrender of Germany and returned home after the war.He shared with me so many incredible stories and he was a special man as so many men were back then. We need to never forget what these men did for their country and the world. Who knows what the world would be like right now if we lost WWII but I'm glad I never got to find out. God Bless his soul and all that have fought valiantly in all of our wars.Comments May 29th, 2010, Carl Cetera wrote..
